Stallions. Everywhere. It seemed like everywhere she turned there was another thick scented stallion just around the corner. So much for the haven for women. As much as she yearned to kick them all out, they were not her prizes to relinquish. Bozena held technical claim over all of them. Adelheid doubted there was much of a plan after that, but at least it was something to show the Peak was not to be taken too lightly. Still, it seemed as though everyone came to the mountains for help, whether they thought the Vulcans could actually assist them or not. Even more odd, it was often stallions who came for help. They sought the Peak’s assistance with their lost mares, or their broken prides. What a reflection it was on them when a wounded hearted man came to their door to ask them to fix their broken hearts with vengeance. Adelheid’s ears laced back into her dark mane, wondering vaguely if this was the truth of it, or if she was simply particularly bitter this morning.
A call rang out through the stone faces and the Codebreaker sighed and picked up her feet to follow the call. As she moved through the well worn trails her mind wandered into whatever she was about to walk into. The tone had not been commanding, and at this this one had the decency to announce himself before entering. Still, there was the sense that the mares of the Peak were still at the call of any male who asked it of them. She was not very impressed.
Once the mare approached her dark blue eyed surveyed those who had come. A quick smile and nod was cast to Wasp before looking closer at the two others. She lifted a brow at the stallion, noting he was not the first to ask for their ‘ears’. Her attention shifted to the pony, nodding in agreement. Prisoner, or dead. she muttered under her breath, not caring if any of the others heard her or not.
The thought of Cullen building another army caught her attention. Once more her ears flicked back and forth and she chewed on her tongue. It seemed as though some things were not moving fast enough and no one from the inside was willing to take down the Boss of the Lagoon. History had been rewritten just before her return to the Peak and now precedence stated the Vulcans would step in to herd matters if needed. She breathed deep and shook out her body. Have you talked to the other herds about this, or met a man named Rade? she asked, her voice dry and clipped. Perhaps it was a time to create a change, possibly without directly involving the bodies of the Peak. Last time, the cost had been great, this time it could be that cutting and well chosen words could make someone else bleed more.
