I do not know most of you. You were captured here long before I came to join the Lagoon, but we are brothers nonetheless. Change is coming to the Lagoon, and I need your support.

I have bargained with Bozena, and she has agreed to release you from your captivity under the condition that you vote for me in the upcoming election for leader of the Lagoon. I know that this is not perhaps the most honorable way to earn your votes, but it is the only way I can secure your freedom for now and I fully intend to prove to you that I am worth the vote.

If I do win, and there are those that do not support me still remaining in the Peak as captives, I promise to do what I can to secure your freedom in the future as well.

I cannot speak for your previous ties to Cullen. I do not know if any of you are his family or friends. What I do know of him is that he is a treacherous villain, too obsessed with the old ways to even consider living a better life. A man who has stolen from families with wanton abandon. A man who has no respect for mares of any kind. A man who would willingly demand that a mare give up her firstborn child in exchange for her freedom. A man who raids and steals with abandon. A man who would threaten a mare with rape to try to make her comply.

I know that we are better than this. I promise to do everything I can to find us a better path forward. But I need your support to do it.
