Thanks to the kind help of a serving loadmaster, I have been able to replace my silver one.

My wife located the old version which is white on dark blue as initial issue. It is not the real early one which was a Flight engineers badge with the E removed and replaced by the L.

The war memorial has one of these on display and after I saw a posting on the matter about why the E and L letters did not match, I was able to tell them the story. Shorty and Bill Ross you could still have one.

They will I am informed collectors items but as I am not a collector, I am prepared to give it to the first person who sends me an email
