~ you carry both lightning and thunder His heart thrums in steady rhythm against his ribs. Who would approach him? He can feel his heart begin to thrum faster as he thinks of who could possibly meet him here. He is uncertain of Siobhan's whereabouts or anyone's from his life, if he were to be honest. Father has been preoccupied. Most days, even when they are together, are spent in silence as father plots silently in the shadows. Occasionally he sees a smile trace across his lips, but it is only usually when he brings up Siobhan.. or Lily.. or Ro.. He has been there for his father since they lost their home and then the Inlet. But not this time. No, this time his father asked him to remain here, despite his protest. He can not help but smile as Roisin materializes before him. He waits for her to rush toward him, to bury her head against his shoulder like she always has done before. But this time she approaches with a mix of emotions written on her face. He raises his crown slightly and a look of confusion flickers in his eyes. Did you know? About mom? He takes a step toward her, his heart hammers against his ribs and worry furrows his brow. "W-wh-what happened to mom?" he stammers as panic begins to rise in his chest. He did not know all of what had happened between his mother and hers, all he knew is that Sio had been brought to the Inlet against her will. He had confronted his mother and she had painted the story that Sio had abandoned them all. He swallows again as his worry deepens. |
