i do what i want

He wasn't a lead stallion, nor did he really have the drive to be one. Maybe that was the reason he had mares that disappeared or chose others over him. He liked being Vizier of the badlands, not the lead but not bottom of the pecking order, either. He had responsibililities. He still had to help protect the herd and he could have his own mares if he wished. He just didn't have to fight anyone and though sparring was fun, he was okay with it, at least for now. If Roheryn needed a hand with the fighting, he wouldn't mind, but he was okay to stand back and let others decide the major stuff. Life was meant to be enjoyed and that's exactly what Kamekaze planned to do.

He moved into the space the mare left him behind the waterfall, taking a moment to let his blue eyes look around. It was a nice little hidden spot with the soothing sound of the water and a slick wall behind them. In a way, it might be a calming place to come if you wanted to clear your head. That's probably what she was doing before he came along....and ruined it by sticking his head in. Well, too late to apologize for it now. He did try, though and she made some excuse about senses being hard to resist. He nodded along in agreement. It sounded good, anyway. He couldn't help but look over the mare across from him curiously, though he tried to be polite and not let his gaze roam too wildly. She was a pretty thing with her golden spots and blue eyes to match. She was slender and fragile-looking, though he was sure that was a false impression. She had the confidence of someone made of tougher stuff.

He chose to give his name and where he came from, hoping to reassure her that he wasn't going to steal her away to a bachelor herd or leave her as a stranger. If all she wanted was conversation then he would go on his way when they were done. Didn't mean he couldn't make the offer. She gave a smile in return to his introduction but something about it seemed sad. She gave her name as Chalice and he smiled, dipping his head in acknowledgement. "Pleasure to meet you, Chalice." When she extended her neck, he did the same, meeting her halfway to exchange breaths before he politely pulled back. She did smell amazing, and the season was only making it that much more intoxicating. Good thing he had plenty of practice in discipline.

When Chalice spoke next, his ears pricked at full attention, intrigue glittering in his eyes as he listened. A man of fire? He tilted his head, thoughtful for a moment. "I wonder what it means...man of fire. Is he passionate? Does it refer to his territory? Has he been burned in the past, either emotionally or physically?" He spoke the questions mostly to himself in thought but it was said aloud in case she had anything to add. After all, she knew more about it than he did. He glanced back at her. "Do you have any other clues? I love a good mystery. If you need an escort while you search for him, I wouldn't mind. Got nothing better to do." He said with a shrug. Maybe she'd want to do this on her own, but he really was bored and it would make him feel like he was being helpful.

When she looked back up, she said she'd never been to Salem and told of the places she had been, which only made up two other places. When she asked if he could introduce her to the island, he nodded. "Of course. I would love to show you the golden sands of Salem. Whenever you want to go, I'll lead the way."
