If there’s one thing in particular about Kaiju that haunts her, it’s his eyes: gold, like suns against the star-speckled night sky of his pelt. They are burned into her memory along with the way the warm light of the sunset on the evening they’d met had enveloped him like an ethereal shroud, making the giant stallion seem ominous and angelic all at once.

In contrast, Balor’s eyes had been strikingly similar to her own - blue with a chip of brown in one - and Fearghas was charming enough in a boy-next-door way, with his dark gaze and freckles. Yet neither stallion had left quite an impression on her like the one Kaiju had.

Therefore shocks jolts through Arkana when she registers the vibrant golden eyes looking back at her. For a split second it’s as though she’s reliving that fateful evening she had met Kaiju, and the intense sense of deja vu freezes the breath in her lungs, leaving her staring dumbfounded with her mouth parted as the stallion’s question hangs in the air. Eyes fluttering closed, she gives her head a tiny shake and pulls herself back into the moment. When she opens her eyes again, the illusion is gone. The golden gaze before her remains, but bearing them is a young stallion about her age who is, otherwise, remarkably unlike Kaiju: petite where Kaiju is large, loudly splashed with white where Kaiju is delicately speckled. He is not unattractive in his own way, however, and something about him tickles the edges of her memory.

“Y-yes, oh yes, I’m fine,” she stutters, and offers the stallion a reassuring smile as she attempts to mentally place him. “Hey, you look familiar; have I seen you around Luthien?” Her mismatched eyes study him with interest.
