Re(4): Why no 60s Music

Never say never. I expect you have no inside information but are making common sense presumptions.

Yes, I've seen trailer offerings driving on I-70. There's kazillions dotting the interstates outside cities. Trailers have come a long ways since Airstreams and walls made with 1x2's. They call it 'modular housing' of course.

Theres a market for starter homes that's generally unmet; Folks are stuck with trailer parks and the riff raff that lives in them. And most still look like trailers, even the doublewides. Its hard to find something to invest in for $75-100k, a price people even close to the minwage could handle.

We're in our 4th house; we bought new once and that was 2 houses ago; we'll never do that again becxause even quarter million dollar houses have soft woods and cheap HomeDepot kitchens, often with pressed wood cabinetry. Our last house was blt in the mid 70s and was much better, tho time to replace HVAC, driveways, windows, new decks and fences, etc. We did that and then sold it for one with better amenities, if not better construction. Its just hard to find good contractors without paying an arm and a leg! Today, wood has really increased in price, if ya can even GET it out of Canada!

With such a volatile economy in the past few years of Republican control, its a heck of a gamble to invest in a house without a pile of money already. And rents are outrageous per sq foot and ya end up with nothing when you leave.

We had it really lucky during the 70s; for homeowners, inflation is a good thing when your house is your best investment and the market goes every upwards. Will that continue? Guess it depends on where you live and covid scared crap out of everybody. I do NOT know why the housing market's so hot but today, a fairly large percentage of homebuyers are buying houses sight personally unseen but for Skype/Facetime and ya have to move fast to get a good one and be pre-approved.

Do you remember the song "Little Boxes"? Lemme post it fm youtube.

Pete Seeger's version wasn't the first but its probably (prolly, grin) the most well known. Were you in the business playing it?
