She didn't want anyone to see her this way, but should have known it would be inevitable. She hated the idea of anyone seeing her as weak or vulnerable, but it was growing harder to hide her emotions the more she grew attached to others. Her children were truly her heart and soul, but there were others that had found a place to snuggle into her heart as well, Zjeena amongst them. Now that the mare was gone, Monster found herself aching to see the cream mare's smiling face or to feel her sturdy body pressed against her own. Now she wasn't sure if that would ever happen again and the very thought was enough to break her heart. Hearing the hoof beats, she turned her head, her eyes lighting up at the sight of her older son, Loupgaru. Even though he'd been a difficult birthing just as Alpha, he wasn't nearly as difficult growing up as his younger brother was proving to be. She could see the taut lines of his muscles as he filled out, knowing he was going to be quite the looker once he fully matured. Of course, all her children were perfect in her eyes, but why shouldn't they be? She could see scars already making their way onto his flawless skin and that hurt her heart a little, but she knew her boys were be boys in the end and they were bound to get battle scars. At least she had no worries that they would know how to defend themselves when they grew up. He called out to her and his soft voice lifted her heart, giving her joy in this time of grief. His muzzle reached out to trail along her skin and she smiled, leaning into the touch that helped to heal her broken heart, at least temporarily. When he asked if she was okay, she gave a sad smile and nodded, reaching over to nuzzle his forelock and nibble at his mane lovingly. "I will be, my dear. I lost a precious friend and grief can be a heavy burden, but I'll move past it as I always do. But let's talk about you. What have you been up to?" Her eyes glimmered a bit as she waited for his response, wanting the distraction as much as she wanted to know what her other children were up to.
