Once more, the overo stallion found himself grazing peacefully in the Common, wondering who would approach this time. The mare who had come to him before seemed pleasant and welcoming, but no sooner had she greeted him before the conversation dwindled down and he found himself alone once more and still in need of a home. He could sense the constant changes in the air. Though he was on the mainland, there was a lot of movement on the islands he could see and the stallion couldn't help but wonder why tings were growing so stagnant. Why were so many leaders abandoning their posts?

Maybe he could have tried the hat on for size himself and swam over to claim a piece of land as his own, but Collision didn't feel that pull, at least not right now. No, he would be content to become part of a herd again, to make friends and show his worth. Maybe then, he could rethink his purpose. He thought back to all his experiences on the islands, from his time with Shenzi in the Lagoon, to his bond with Rhadra and her daughter, Izzy, in the Peak and his growing friendship with Bozena. He'd met a few of the lead stallions on his adventures, like Solomon of the Cove and Maslakhat of the Dunes, though he wondered if they still called those places home. Maybe some day he'd meet them again.

His brown gaze wandered over the other figures on the Mainland, a soft nicker leaving his lips as he reached down for yet another bite of grass. The cool spring air was welcoming on his shedding coat, though it was quite itchy this time of year. Dust settled over most of his usual white fur, courtesy of the many rolls he took to get rid of his undercoat. Well, no one said he had to be well groomed to prove his worth.
