The Vanner stallion gritted his teeth as he pushed through the ocean, his brown eyes set on the island of Atlantis straight ahead. He knew it was probably a moot point, but he had to at least try. He owed that much to Chelle, to at least show her he hadn't forgotten about her and he wasn't going to give up on her. He drove himself through the waves, only stopping when his hooves landed in the soft sands of Paradise's shores. Shaking out his coat, the draft stallion stepped up onto land and threw his head before giving out a call, summoning Rougaru himself. A part of him hoped the amber mare would recognize his voice and maybe she'd venture closer as well, but he didn't want to further antagonize the Atlantis stallion by calling out for her.

He'd never felt so helpless as when mares were taken from the Desert. He still remembered trying to surrender himself in a mare's place before and the offer wasn't accepted. He knew that wouldn't work with Rougaru either so he needed to think of something; he just had no idea what. What could he possibly offer the Paradise stallion? He wouldn't give up his mares or his children. Their freedom was their own and he wouldn't throw anyone to the wolves like that. Maybe he could feel Rougaru out in conversation first, see if there was anything he could use to his benefit. Meanwhile, his eyes would be steadily searching the tree line, looking a glimpse of those beautiful amber spots.
