Cambria isn’t certain of much, but she’s certain it’s too fucking cold for her to be out here. Beneath her hooves, she could hear the crackling of the frost coated grass. Winter. Though her dense coat had grown in, she was still uncomfortable. Winter didn’t treat her particularly well, and this was her first on her own. She’d been… left was the wrong word. Kicked out was wrong too. She’d simply woken up one morning to find that her band of travelers had left her behind. That was all. They’d moved on without her.
So it goes. The girl washed up in the Common, and she wasn’t lost. No, in order to be lost you really do need a planned destination. She didn’t have one of those. No, Cambria is simply alone. It’s not a good time of year for that. Alone, she wouldn’t last long. They are prey animals, after all. There would be safety in numbers.
A shiver chases down her spine as she turns and moves inland. There wasn’t telling how much daylight would be left, and she would need to make use of it. That, and with a light jog she’s trying to drive the chill from her bones. Something told Cambria that it would be there until the spring thaw. No matter.
With wide, bright eyes the creature surveys the world around her. It’s not bad. This place wasn’t the worst she’d seen in her travels, not the best either. There’s something deeply unsettled about her in these moments, though. What was that gnawing feeling? Loneliness, probably. She’d do her best to shake it. Couldn’t let something like that have too much impact on her. Cambria is far too strong for that.
