Finch Somehow, Finch’s single word seemed to begin melting the ice that held both creatures frozen. The rusty grind of the stranger’s voice nearly made the copper colored girl flinch, but she managed to stave off the reaction. Mostly because of the entrance Roisin made for herself. The crashing through the brush seemed loud after the silence that had surrounded the trio, and the girl stared wide eyed at what she considered to be her older sister. Roisin seemed just as flustered, but it appeared to be a common feeling the stranger gave off, as all three siblings had felt nearly the same. (Or so Finch thought.) Somewhere during that time, Hades had moved away from Finch. She had briefly glanced at him, then at the stranger, but mostly she watched Roisin as she spoke. Yet as the question hung before them, and Hades returned to her, Finch felt a heavy weight from his silence. He was waiting on her to make the decision for them both. The young girl was not used to speaking for them both. She typically would choose the simpler route of following him wherever he ventured each day. This was new, and it excited her. A world run by mares didn’t sound too far off from the life in the Ridge. Finch still gave a smile to Roisin, perking her ears to show she was intrigued in her sister’s new home. “I want to see where you live.” she said. It sounded like a lot more fun than returning home, or stumbling through any more briars. But her eyes ventured back to the stranger who hadn’t even given up her name yet. “You should come with us…. If you want. I think it will be safer than being here alone.” Finch ventured to say, trying not to be hopeful for a new friend, but feeling it burning in her chest nonetheless. |
