I too am a recent arrival, as I think most of the current Peak are. I had thought to run for the General position myself in the absence of any other interested parties, although I find I am relieved that a more experienced candidate has stepped forward. I do not yet know if you are a mare worth following, but I trust that the sisters that lived here before made a wise choice in appointing you.

My Sisters,

Together I believe that we can achieve greatness. As an introduction, I know that I am new and relatively untried, but I am eager. I came to the Peak to get stronger so that I would be capable of protecting those that I love. As the eldest child in a large family, I am capable of diplomacy, but it is never my first instinct. As such, I would be honored to run as our General until, or if, a more qualified candidate steps forward.

I have recently found myself facing Rade, the leader of the Lagoon. He claims that we are no better than they are, because of decisions that our sisters have made in the past. I hope that this is not true. I am laying my faith in the belief that we are better than a band of rapists, murderers, and thieves. I know that life is not black and white. I know that sometimes hard decisions must be made in order to benefit the greater good.

Rade claims that our sisters took Lagoon men as captives. I know that I did not take the captives from the Lagoon myself and that their destinies do not rest in my hands alone. In truth, I am not certain that any of the Lagoon men remain against their will. However, I ask for the blessing of my sisters to go to Rade to see if a negotiation can be made for the release of any remaining prisoners in exchange for the release of their captives. I would be honored, Oswin, if you would come with.
