The land beyond the cove was not the same. It was bland and boring, in the opinion of the young mare who’d never set foot outside her home territory before now. She’d been ushered away at her mother’s insistence, while also making sure the grumpy woman was going to stay near SOlomon and the rest of the ladies before actually leaving. Now was as good a time as any to venture out whilst father’s attention was elsewhere. If Solomon had his way Bell would never be able to leave, so she kept quiet until the wounds upon her back and legs healed from the wolf attack so she’d be stronger.

The winds tug at her mane, calling her attention away and in the direction it was tugging her which was further up the beach and into the trees, the thick foliage tucking her from sight and swallowing her up without a trace as she continues along a well walked path, glad to see some sort of activity in such a place, satisfied that it wasn’t completely devoid of other life.

The trees part and empty her onto a vast field, not at all like back home in the cove and for a moment she is homesick wanting the rich scenery of her birth place again but she had to do this, and show her dad she was ready for the bigger world. Surely by fighting off the wolves and earning some neat battle scars that proves she was ready right? With this in mind she ventures even further into the field, the silent world around surely alive with sound that could not be heard, even as she opens her mouth to call to the nearest soul, it falls on deaf ears that flicker uselessly around for a potential friend.
