PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Hollis had trailed behind the strange, boisterous trio at a safe distance, all the way to this promised Peak. The lure of a stallion-free land is too tempting, and even though the golden-splashed mare still thinks it is too good to be true. After all, they’re taking the scarred bay with them - can it really be stallion free, if he’s welcome? As they traveled, Hollis kept to the back, her blue gaze resting heavily on the scarred, silent, hulking stallion who trails after the pair of pretty white-marked mares. They’ve been a friendly enough bunch, even if Hollis is certain that things only went so well because these mares showed up. Before they arrived, there had been a tense silence between her and the stallion, a vicious staredown after he burst into her shelter and stood there silently watching. She is certain their meeting would have ended in violence if the mares hadn’t interrupted - if he had made any sort of move toward her, Hollis would have fought and then run.

Even so, the first breath of Spring has come to these strange islands, and Hollis finds herself in this strange promised land. It mostly seems empty, but she can understand why it is called the Peak - off in the distance is the single most massive mountain she has ever seen, rising cragging and imposing over the landscape. It’s so unlike the rolling fields and gentle beaches of her home that Hollis is struck dumb for a few long moments. She doesn’t have much time to stare the way she would like, desperate to follow the group farther in until she reaches the safety of the Peak. Hollis is new enough that she doesn’t exactly understand the way things work here - is there some magical line she crosses that keeps the stallions out? How will she know when she’s safely away from anyone who may harm her? The closer they drew to this promised land, the quicker the trio before her moved. At this point, Hollis can’t see any of them, but she must be in the proper place. Her exhaustion is catching up with her, and so she slows to a stop in a lush field. This seems as good a spot as any. There isn’t another soul around, and Hollis breathes out a heavy sigh of relief as she lowers her head to graze. Safety at last.
