You don't pay attention to what I said. You need to realize that most of my radio experience was the first part of my media career--substantial reporting, always 5 minute radio newscast anchoring, usually mornings, and twice as radio ND. Radio people spend most of their time rewriting out of the paper, making checkcalls and writing crime stories and getting phone interviews, like BZ people do. I was only in it for abt 5 years, including the military.
I moved to TV--never anchored; TV people don't rip and read anything. your raggin on me about that and cubicles is irrelevant.
In fact, producers babysit the wire services. I did not produce much; I was a reporter, assignment editor, and news ops manager--which was mostly equipment buying and logistics, election coverage, event planning. That's where all the fun is. Chasin tornados, sirens, covering meetings and important people blowing through town, and making little 2 minute movies for the 6 and 10.
You're a radio sales slug, totally preoccupied with radio, and apparently only the business side. Again, once I left radio, like I've told you Larry King said, I never looked back. I doubt many people do when they go into TV and I have no idea why anybody would unless they weren't very good at reporting. when I got into TV. Most of my years were affiliate TV and all the fun stuff was either special projects, live and satellite stuff, and elections, or beat reporting.
By 1976, radio news was damned near dead except for talk stations like BZ.

Some of these half dozen people in here are trying to get back to talking about radio. LET EM! What the fucque is the matter with you, anyway? Nobody cares about your narcissism and ego needs.
Moreover if I wanna post a media story I read elsewhere or engage in somthing abt radio, its really NOYB; chances are its over your head because nobody in here talks about sales. Haven't you figured out yet nobody cares about your playground bullying or your vast and successful knowledge about buying time! Replies:
