Perhaps if he was more verse in the way of mares he might be able to tell the change of her hormones. There was no tell-tale signs of her pregnancy, to him, so the mystery of why she seems to into him was still a mystery. He just couldn’t believe the first mare he approaches on his own in the commons could really be this willing to get to know him. It was exciting! His heart thumps strongly against in chest the more he fantasizes about where this might lead. He felt accomplished in this moment, wanted, attractive, but in the back of his mind he knew it could all come crashing down swiftly. As soon she was found out he had no real home or status to give her the protection she deserves. Mares seek out those that could provide for them. Aries fears he could not give her everything she needs out of life.
The only prayer he had left was that the new owner of the Dunes would agree to let him stay there. He would strive to become the stallion’s second, even a beta, just to have some title to give to prove to Fearne he was doing his best. Would that be enough? Without him trying their family name would die because as far as he knew, he was the only male left of his father’s blood. His younger brother had left with his parents some time ago which left him the sole heir to keeping their bloodline alive. In the same sense, Aries shares the deep love that comes from his blood. The generations he knew have all come from a place of deep love so he prays he will one day find the same kind of relationship his parents had. That relationship his grandparents also shared with each other.
Aries listens to Fearne’s short explanation of the Lagoon. He wonders just how much she knows of the place, but she seems to only be going off of one bad meeting. There was no way Aries wouldn’t believe her though so he nods. A quick second glance around doesn’t seem to materialize anyone from the Lagoon-to which he sighs. There was no way his lack of time on the battlefield would be an aid to Fearne if one of them were to show up now. He would need to start practicing if he wishes to achieve his goals of status and his want to protect her. Their conversation moves on as he inquires more about her. Fearne’s first answer causes his head to rotate to the side just a tad. A small smile spreads over his lips before his skull returns to a normal position. Of course she was here looking a home you dummy. Had his question been so ridiculous? He hadn’t actually meant why she was in the commons, but what was the reason she came here now.
His mouth opens to speak, but it quickly shuts as the young mare elaborates. Fearne explains how she has come here to the islands (noted that she wasn’t a native) and how it was different than her homeland. She then asks why he was here and quickly asks if he wasn’t interested in taking her home. The stallion gulps nervously. ”No, no I..” he stumbles finding the right words. The stallion takes a deep breath, straightening up his body, before he speaks again. Aries finds his confidence to assure Fearne he was interested in her. ”I am very interested in taking you home.” He gives off a charming smile. ”I have come here to find real companionship,” he starts to explain himself, suddenly realizing he never introduced himself in the first place. ”Forgive me for never stating my name! Call me Aries miss Fearne.” He head dips to her with his introduction.
”I come from the sands of Salem, the Dunes to be precise, and I wish to take you there if you’ll allow it.” There it is. His first true proposal to give her a home. A chance for a real relationship with a mare. The start of his new life of opportunity. |
