"Too late" and "poor timing."
Too late for radio and TV HR to increasse staffing and news-gathering . Radio and TV both cut personnel to the bone, long ago.
Poor timing for any and EVERY other employer to "beef up" their personnel. You already know - Every place you go there are "Help Wanted" signs.
I called my regular auto-repair shop for a vehicle inspection, last week. The soonest they could fit me in was this morning, a week later. While I was waiting for the
inspection of my truck, I heard the shop scheduler tell the caller he'd have to wait TWO WEEKS to get in for whatever repair it was the caller needed.
When the scheduler hung up, I asked him if the new-and-used car shortage caused by the pandemic had caused people to repair and keep their old cars, he said his problem was, he couldn't hare anybody to work on the cars.
I asked, "You can't find good, qualified mechanics?" And he replied, "I can't find ANYBODY who wants to work." Replies:
