Re(2): Format Changes

I"ll try my pitch with a different way of attacking the problem of short playlists that make me quickly tired of radio:

Shouldn't we just separate out radio stations who play EITHER past or current Top40 as pop'radio', since so many people like pop artists but not the repetitive short playlists based on released singles loved by radio people?

I noticed KLOU Stl calls themselves 'greatest hits of 80s-90s', but they really go back to the beatles' age genre, so thats another 10 years of greatest hits they play too, broadening their playlist by a third--making it much more listenable with variety hits, especially for allday listeners.

We're the ones who skip radio and listen at home/work on our computers or cable companies' channels. We dont' even HAVE radios anymore, so I presume Arbitron doens't even rate us for you.

Anyone who liked 80s music new ALL of the 70s because radio in the 80s played em all. They know the lyrics like it was yesterday and that by definition is familar pop!

As a boomer I find 90s rock pretty unfamiliar, hence I go elsewhere for my music. Like I Heart, Sunny and others.

Too many both old and younger Top 40 MusicDirectors are locked into the top40 limited hits mentality. I think we all like a lot more music than they're willing to play, for white radio people tend to be racist, homophobic and elderphobic.

By definition, that excludes music liked by a lot of potential listeners--they're avoiding what they should also be playing.
