Regulated militia

I liked Heston til he turned into a gun nut. Here's my last post on Twitter to a guy concerted about the legality of confiscations and I prefer military style weapons to be placed under the Natnl Firearms Act under supervision of the ATF, so they're separate than regular hand weapons and rifles:

"Makes more sense to disarm our machomen of their military style weapons OR force them into the Regulated Militia (police, SO, or Nat Guard Unit), plus force them to have a $50/mo million dollar personal liability policy so long as they own an AR-15 type weapon w ammo at home."

I also favor computer registration of the military grade ammo and high capacity magazines as part of the regulated control.

Seems to me that Concealed carry in states should fall under 'regulated militia' since states have been licensing carry and that's regulation. Leave it up to states to decide if they want to have psych tests or whatever to do that.

Let the police, sheriff, Natnl Guard, military handle mental issues and training for their members and then members have all the regulation the Constitution should require under 2nds wording. If they do the regulating, I see no reason why military style gun owners can't have em at home assuming their units/agencies approve and they're properly stored and insured for million dollar personal liability just like guard dogs are.

The 2nd amendment was poorly written by hindesight but can be acceptable including the modern high capacity weaponry if it's just widened a bit without changing the words 'regulated militia.'

Whaddya think, guys?
