PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Róisín's breath came in short, sharp pants as she finished, her mismatched gaze locked upon the face of her leader. She didn't know what she expected to find there - indignance, anger, doubt - but she knew that she needed to see it. Oswin had poked at the long-infected wound the dun girl had carried with her for years, and everything poisonous and toxic had come spilling out all at once.

The moment Oswin began to speak, Róisín could see that she did not share her opinions. That her affection for the Lagoon's brutish General outweighed Róisín's lived experience and it soured the young mare, reducing the impact of each additional word that Oswin spoke.

When I met him, the pale mare was trying to explain, as if Róisín hadn't already called out the fact that Tyr was good at spinning lies. The man might have held the General's seat, but that did not mean he was incapable of intrigue. Could she not see that? That his vote to overthrow Cullen didn't mean much of anything if they didn't have the context of the situation. If the whole of the Lagoon had already turned against the golden bastard, Tyr would have risked nothing to vote in agreeance with them. And who was to say he wasn't lying in the first place?

She remained silent and stiff as Oswin coughed up all the pretty lies that Tyr had fed her, probably coupled with cuddles and snuggles or whatever it was that couples got up to when they were alone. As Oswin confessed to believing him because she would change the world for her children, Róisín could not hide her bitter laughter.

Tyr was not the same.

Tyr had done what he had done and then taken his wives and children to invade her home. He hadn't changed for his children. He had 'changed' because it was in his best interest to do so... and Oswin was willfully blind to this obvious fact. But what use was it arguing with her now? The Peak's Prime Minister's voice was firm, her belief unwavering, and no matter what Róisín said, it was clear that nothing would change it. That much was clear from the way Oswin had neatly dodged the implication about the roan mare, yet again.

"No, you don't." Róisín cut in firmly as soon as Oswin claimed to see Tyr for what he was, her ears laced back. "You see him for the falsehood he's fed you, and you're happy to believe it because then it means you don't have to do anything about it and you don't have to admit that you were wrong."

Rói had considered ignoring the golden mare's platitudes about her mother's plight, as she knew her mother would have wanted her to do, but the anger and resentment were too strong to ignore. "We don't need your pity now. I've already become what I needed then. And I aim to be that for all of the other little kids who are the byproducts of such pretty lies."

She took a step back, and then another with a shake of her head. "I don't even know why you bothered asking." Without waiting for a dismissal, the dun girl turned away, her gut twisting with anger and sorrow and began to set a course for the top of the Peak. At least there she could lose herself in the rhythm of exercise where the threat of death kept her mind from wandering.

OOC: I'm okay ending it here unless Oswin wants to pursue her <3 <3 <3
