Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

“Hm.” Psychedelic grunted behind closed lips, his dark eyes flashing amusedly for a moment. His lips pursed in a stressed line as he shifted his still-sore limbs and stood more comfortably. His still-wet tail flicked out at his hind, barely stirring through the heavy air before the tendrils curled around his back limbs again.

“Ouch,” he said with a playful grin, dark eyes glittering, “I don’t strike you as a nice guy?” The rhetorical question only hung in the air between them for a moment before Psychedelic tilted his head and admitted, “It was a political move, but a little personal too. Nyimara held me hostage in her desert for a while after I was injured from a different fight; getting to stick it to her felt good.” It was exactly the stroke his little ego needed to keep chugging along and ultimately achieve the goals he was striving toward.

“You shouldn’t have been left there that long, and not without retaliation.” Psychedelic’s brown-lined tan ear flicked back, annoyance briefly tightening his expression. “When I was born here,” he gestured toward the inland marsh, “being a part of the brotherhood meant something. If someone messed with us, we messed with them.” A quick, disgusted breath sighed hard from his nose. “Instead you were stuck over there, and she tried to come take someone else shortly after. There were no consequences for her actions. The Lagoon was a free-for-all.” For hers, or for that little girl Parvati, who’d tried playing her childish games with the Lagoon before. For the herd leaders on the island to start picking them apart for sport.

Psychedelic glanced up at the darker colored paint. “I just wanted to show these herd leaders that there’s consequences again.” He smiled, but it was with malice. “Even if it’s just my old ass.” He barked a bit of a laugh at that. “And I wanted to show the boys what I am going to try to make the Lagoon into again. We don’t leave ours behind, or let that go unanswered, even if we aren’t personally buddy-buddy.”

He regarded Rehoboam thoughtfully. He hadn’t been just another stallion of the Lagoon when Nyimara snatched him, but the Marauder. Psychedelic was here now, trying to undo whatever work he and the prior bosses had done. Maybe it’d been stupid to drag him right back here, at the cusp of the election, just in time to speak out and see doubt against him.

“How much trouble should I expect you to stir up against what I’m trying to do here?” Easier to ask the question point-blank.
