The chocolate wolf pauses in his own aimless journey to watch as she emerges from beneath the shadow of the forest. Depthless emerald green eyes glitter as the grizzled beast rises with interest. A beauty she may be, but even in the graceful poise, the wolf does not miss the shimmer of sadness in her eyes or the dejected manner in which she hangs her head and ears. ’Why?’ the question resounds within his head as he shifts in his own direction so that he can cross the path in which she has chosen.

A suave smile curves across his whiskered lips as the large hessian dips his proud head and stumbles into her path. ”My, my, my… what have we here?” he asks, his muscular neck coiling tightly as his neck arches. He exhales a huffing breath, drinking in the thick, sweet aroma that hangs around the mare before him. She smelled of buffalo grass and sage, of Luthien. It has been years since he has seen the island of dense deciduous forests and open grasslands. Years since he tasted the aromatic flavors that accompanied the northern neighbor of Atlantis. Jade eyes take advantage of the closeness between them now, traveling shamelessly over the voluptuous curves and exotic contours of her body. ”Have you lost your way, little dove?” he purrs, his thick baritones calculated and filled with curiosity. Fluted ears perk forward amid the tumbling curls of his cream and caramel mane as he waits patiently for her response. He was the wolf and she had become his prey. She just did not realize it yet.
