Sinaet
there's a devil that resides behind your smile

It was not completely without purpose that the bay mare was out that winter morning. She had wandered from her abode, leaving Canis dozing, to chance upon his father: Rougaru. The last almost three years had flown since their son was born. In that time, Sinaet had surprisingly been almost completely focused on raising the colt rather than bonding with his father any deeper than the surface. It was fairly obvious that Sinaet was of the quiet, withdrawn sort, and she had been fine with it, but now that Canis was nearly old enough to leave home? The bay female needed to think about her future, what place she had in the herd she was party to, and the nature of her relationships with those around her. Things needed to change, and spending more time with Rougaru seemed like a place to start.

Sinaet made her way across the snow-kissed sands, absentmindedly following a trail of hoofprints left by another passerby. She quite enjoyed trekking across this land, even if it was just for her own amusement. The pale green of her eyes glinted then in the sun as Sinaet turned her head and looked south. For all the mare knew the bay stallion wasn't even in the Desert right now. He could be literally anywhere across the islands right now. A dark ear flicked outward then, unsure. It could be that her search for him would come up empty, at least for today. Sure, she would be a little disappointed, but he'd return. She would wait and talk to him then.

A sigh silently parted her lips as her glance dipped down to the ground, a forehoof toying with a lone pebble. Both ears flattened against her poll, this time in mere annoyance at herself. Why had she waited so long to even care about this? Why was she just caring now? With a huff, Sinaet yanked her head upward. She wasn't sure what she wanted out of all of this, and that didn't sit well with her. The mare used to know or have an idea of what she wanted, and, since she'd come here and become a mother, Sinaet had lost sight of it. Maybe that scared her -- you know, somewhere deep down where she would ever even consider admitting it. A deep breath and a lash of her tail later, and Sinaet was the definition of poise again, or at least she attempted to be. Then, she strolled onward, committed to enjoying her morning stroll.
