Time seemed to lazily drift by in the Ridge. Rather than the constant struggle that the Lagoon was faced with (both incoming, and outgoing battles), there didn’t seem to be as much strife here on Atlantis. It was easy to get lost in the daily routine. To simply enjoy the sunshine on his back, the food in his belly, and the care and attention of his family. To spend time tucked away with Kvothe and Nesryn in the thick jungle, or to take in the view of the cliffs with Oswin and Calder. There were other residents that called the Ridge home, but he had not crossed paths with them again. Nor had he forgotten the dark shadow that had always been here that was missing.
Jigsaw proved to be more than annoying, when Tyr couldn’t be rid of him by simply losing him to the thick jungle’s layout. And his worry for Faolain and the child she bore in the Lagoon was an endless, nagging thought. When Psychedelic had agreed to Tyr’s terms after their fight, he had been relieved, but thus far he had not seen the end payment. While he didn’t collect Vaingard that day, the once Boss of the Lagoon had not released Jigsaw either. Not until he truly saw Faolain back where she belonged.
So, as the sun rose and the new day began, so did Tyr begin his daily journey. Drifting out of the jungle, he picked his way carefully through the jagged rocks that covered the path down to the sea. There were several, much easier ways to go than the direction he typically picked, but it was also the quickest way. Once the stallion reached level ground again, the rock towards behind him and the salt water lapped lazily at the sand before him. With a hefty sigh, he cast his two toned eyes out across the ways and towards the Crossing. He didn’t expect to see the familiar face of Faolain, or the child they shared. But he could always hope, while always wary that it might be an intruders face instead.
