Re(6): BIG CHANGES COMING TO 107.3FM

People dont care how a TV signal gets to them or how music comes to them.

They only care about what's ON!

Same with the technology reproducing music. I saved a box of my mothers 1940s-50s pop music 45's wth labels like Capitol, Decca, RCA Victor and I gave all my free demo records I got as an MD 50 years ago to my kids. Still played on oldies stations because we boomers aren't dead yet.

Everything I have I like I have on a PC, a backup external drive or 2 and on the cloud. Searchable... Miss Helfinger doesn't have to go shag a record from the stacks for me to hear! I could run an internet station from my desk on this very computer! And what's missing, I can find in 5 minutes on the internet, probably a half dozen versions on YouTube video.

Exactly what's the value-added of today's radio again? I bet within 20 years we'll have local govt provided WIFI and many more choices on satrad. No need for disk jockeys at all. Will you be able to work before you start getting your Social Security pack after all these years?

Or are you one of the handful of nostalgic retired media workers or advertising buyers in here who has no freakin idea whats going to happen?

Whoever sits in here and trashes radioman is a waste of bandwidth. Do your kids even call you on the phone to say hi once in awhile to see if you're still lucid?
