He looks out to the commons, finally old enough to feel secure in his life and the space he occupied in the universe. The loss of his mother had been devastating, the loss of his adoptive father even more agitating, and he simply had not done a good job in responding to that hardship. He saw Enoch now and then, he had seen how Sinai had not made it to his fourth year. He had unraveled himself from the heap that the Deserts became after his family had relinquished it.

Now, though, he was grown and healed and there was no small drive to find his purpose now. He had known he could spend time amongst those of the Lagoon - but his father and his adopted father both had been herdsmen. It was hard for that much formativeness to not touch him in some way. Love. He wanted the love he had seen Berit offer Cain. He wanted the family that he’d denied himself until now. And how had that come to be? Welp. in the islands here, it was best to begin on the Crossing Isle.

He sees her make landfall and she is a beautiful kind of faded out chestnut, deep and reminiscent to him of if blueberries were red-toned? Like there was a certain amount of fog or a light frost laying across her. Her mane was like the color of long grasses he once played within in the desert. Dark, rich, deep in the face. Beautiful.

But how does a man introduce himself to such a pristinely beautiful creature?

Her lipping at flowers inspires in him the silly initial intrusive thought that he might like to ‘accidentally’ graze into her. But really, what did you say other than ‘pardon me’ and continue on? He trots his thick black and ember body to her instead, making no mistake about his intention there being to address her as he nickers deep and low and rich in his chest. "Hello, I am Vulcan." Not overly brilliant, that introduction, but his nerves had settled once he decided to open his mouth to greet her at all. He does not shudder and his demeanor is back to its more relaxed baseline.

"If you do not mind my saying so, this earth is too well traversed to have the same good grazing as other places offer. Would you like me to show you?"
