When the darkness comes….(Sarira)

Time slowly passed and the storm began to fade away. The soil was fresh under large hooves, but eyes of fire once again grew their flame as a large horse headed farther into the territory. There was no trail yet, but soon enough Siren knew she would be building one through these vines as she crossed from the beach into the jungle. Her large frame would be working to make the trail steady, but not obvious to the eye of outsiders. This territory would be protected as best as possible and she did not wish to have someone raid her. To save her herd, the mare would be sure that this jungle would be a maze that no one could get through unless they walked or swam to a certain part in this territory.

Headed to a spot, Siren flicked her ears forward as she eyed a fallen log. It was a jungle of course so logs would happen, but her head tilted to gauge how hard it would be to jump this thing. It would be smarter to go around of course, but making the trail evident to it then others would not find an easier way around unless they really looked. Finally the mare pinned her ears and shifted on the soil. Snorting, Siren took a few leaping strides forward before her body hit its rhythm and large hooves lifted from the ground. Vines snapped against her sides and neck, hoping to send a noose around her throat considering how new she was to this land.

Mid air, Siren felt the warmer tropical air slither through her fur as her eyes looked ahead. If she were to look anywhere else but forward, she knew that her body would end up losing its momentum and she did not wish to fall and hurt herself. That would not be the best way to be in this new land of hers. So, with her body almost soaring, Siren let her body just ease into a decent position with her hind legs tucking up against her stomach and her front legs extending. The sound of her large frame hitting the ground was not silent, but she managed to go over the log without too much pain in the forward speed she pushed out.

Bouncing forward as she finally touched the ground, she gained her footing and soon enough turned her head to the log. This special thing would be the border of her home and what she knew to be something special. Turning her head, Siren looked out over this special piece of land. There was someone in these depths, that much she could smell. Taking in a deep lungful of air, Siren let her call enter the air to hopefully summon the owner of this little section of paradise.
