Point has been made. The "part we don't want to talk about has been talked about". All the pro union big mouths at the kitchen table don't seem to have an answer as to why it is OK to leave the firehouse and go work a side job in a unionized trade or workplace and yet, not be a part of that union. How many "brothers" and "sisters" leave the firehouse and work as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, HVAC contractors, etc? You do know that all of those trades have unions right? Even "helpers" in those trades should be in the union apprentice program and paying union dues. Why are we not all picketing in front of those brother's and sister's houses and calling them "scabs"? Why are we calling them over to our house when we need something installed or fixed? We should be shunning them and turning their plates over right? Hypocritical isn't it? Everyone only wants to see what they want to see and point the finger at others. Replies:
