Re(1): Top 40's gone

Why the negativity and hate? If Hip-hop isn’t your genre, then it isn’t your genre.

Me? I’m a white guy in his 40’s and listen to a little bit of everything, as part of a well balanced life. Am I their key demographic? Most likely not, but I don’t think it’s right to root for people or stations to fail.

The good thing about living and growing up listening to radio in Kansas City, is to see how things have progressed and changed over the years. For the longest time there was only one station for Urban formatted music, 103.3. Now we have two hip-hop stations, an R&B station on 106.9, and even Jazz, (what KC is known for ,)being played on the left end of the dial. Hip-hop has even impacted and influenced Top-40 stations and even some Hot AC stations. But I digress back to my original point.

If you don’t have an answer to my question then don’t comment. But I as a listener wish 105.1 well. I want to see them do good things and that’s why a little more gold-based mixed with the new product would actually be a little more pleasing to the audience. Since there isn’t as much product out there to make an all currents hip-hop station as successful against Hot 103. That’s why I say if Hot wants to zig, Power should zag to make them stand apart. At least that’s what I think.
