There was one thing about Nahawi that would set him apart from almost every other stallion here on the crossing island. He was gentle, kind, easy going, and much more. Yet, the thing that made him different from everyone else was his wanting to learn about the horse in front of him, to speak with them as if there was nothing else they were supposed to do. It was not a great trait for his position, but he did not show it in the Lagoon. Instead, he acted like the other stallions and it made him hate himself while he was back where he claimed to be his home. He liked living there, don't get him wrong. It was just the way he forced himself to act with everyone there that made bile rise in his throat, or would if horses could vomit.

Listening to her, Nahawi’s gentle smile returned to his face as he scanned her for a moment. It made sense that she was from Salem in all reality. Her fur was light compared to where his still held the winter fluff that would not fully shed out until summer hit the islands. “I think your mother gave you a fitting name Aase. You are already as strong as a mountain with not running from a stranger stallion and actually allowing him to have a conversation.” Nahawi wanted her to know that she was already strong, already a mountain. If she continued on the path she walked now, she would be an immovable force in the future and he wished he would get to see it when those days came.

Her last question had Nahawi wincing. With the state of the Lagoon currently and not knowing where everyone was, it was not safe for her to really travel alone in these parts. “There are many places that are amazing to visit, but my brothers… they are a bit uncontrolled at the moment.” Nahawi was not sure if she would know that he referenced the Lagoon, but there was no point hiding who he was or where he lived. It would allow her to decide if she wished to continue speaking with him or not. “If you would like, we can visit the falls or the meadow? Or we can go to the beach and you can travel outside of this island to other places.” Nahawi had been to many different islands, one of his favorites being Atlantis believe it or not.
