Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

After his encounter with Nahawi, Garmr had plenty to think about. Last election he had given the now Boss his vote to see what sort of chaos it might bring, to have such a soft leader in this ruthless place. The tension had grown thick, boiling as if it would come to a head, but then it had died away, and nothing had come of it. Garmr had continued his enjoyment of causing rift with island herds. Raiding, battling, claiming; anything that would push the thorn ever deeper into Nahawi’s side. To see just where his breaking point was since no one else was bothering to do it.

As the draft stallion stood in the shadows, his ears picked up the squelching sounds of hooves in the muck before a hushed voice drifted through the otherwise quiet swamp. It wasn’t directed at him, and he could tell there was more than one brother walking together. Clearly by how quietly one was talking, the words weren’t meant to be overheard. Such a shame, since Garmr couldn’t pass up a perfect opportunity that was laid so deliciously at his feet.

Moving out of his resting spot, Garmr approached the two young stallions. He had seen them before, knew their names much like everyone else knew his that had been here for seasons, but had never talked to them. He didn’t know if they stood with Nahawi or not, fulfilling his visions of good for the Lagoon. But it was clear that they weren’t happy now. “I hate to hear how unhappy you are, brothers.” the draft stallion said sincerely. “But are you so sure it’s the place that needs to change?” Garmr would know quickly if this was a waste of time or not.
