Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

in the deafening silence;

what's a king
to a god?

It did not take long for the young Boss to begin unfurling his problems at Rehoboam's feet as though he alone possessed the power to solve his problems. In truth, the tobiano wasn't particularly adept at solving his own problems, let alone those of someone else, but he didn't stifle the red dun. A sudden child and a lapse in Lagoon's chaos sounded not so bad considering what Reh knew of the Lagoon's history, but then again, he was no young stallion anymore either. Perspective was everything, and Nahawi was, by all accounts, still getting the hang of life as a mature stallion.

"The stallions go through bouts of activity." The tobiano began patiently, cocking a hind hoof in relaxation. With Osiris now separated from him (a fact that hurt him as much as it freed him), he felt far less stressed about remaining in the Lagoon. "I would be more worried if they were active," he answered honestly. "Without actions to back up their words, our brothers will be less likely to vote for them..." He trailed off with a small sigh. "Which isn't to say you will have an easy time of it."

Reh went quiet for a moment as he considered the stallion's other point. "As for the mystery child... you've released any prisoner that might nurse them, so if I were you, I might seek assistance from the Peak." Rehoboam would sooner go to his own family than the would the sisters, if only because they were often just as volatile if not worse than the Lagoon men they vocally despised. However, if Nahawi did seek to make change across the isles, asking a valkyrie to raise this mystery child would perhaps soften them toward Nahawi's purpose. "It's not like we'd be able to care for it here, and might give them a reason to support you in what ways they can."
