Even though he had tried to bite her, Nahawi had failed. His teeth didn't latch onto her hind end and instead he got a good kick to the chest that had him grunting out a pained breath. His rage filled eyes narrowed as he was about to lunge forward once more, but stopped. The red duns muscles quivered with the force he threw upon himself to stop the forward momentum he had thrown out in order to bite the pale mare. He wanted to rip into her, but something in his subconscious had his movements faltering and his body stopping dead still.


Looking over her, Nahawi finally came out of his fog enough to register her words, nothing making sense. His ears pinned back in a way that showed his confusion and his face became scrunched up with the emotion. With his mind slowly cleaning, he could tell the worst of his trembling was coming from the ankle injury that was throbbing and starting to swell up already. He wasn't sure how that happened, much less why he was here in the Ridge. It took a moment then for everything to come into focus and you can bet Nahawi was angry again, but this time at himself.


Scrambling backwards, Nahawi tripped once again on the same root as before and stumbled, his hind end hitting the ground with his legs holding his sore chest and neck upright. Tears lined the rims of his eyes, but he didn't let them escape as his gaze faced the ground. He sat there looking like a lost child with his body shaking as he held in sobs. He was confused, lost, and unsure of what he had done. If he could speak without his voice breaking in that moment, he'd throw out the word sorry so many times the mare would be sick of him apologizing right there on the spot.
