Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

I want your heart on a platter open

Oh, you want battle?
I'll give you war.

Turns out, the Lagoon is even stinkier and hotter in the summer than it was in the spring. And noisier, somehow? Like all the bugs in the world all decided that right now and right here were the only places they possibly exist in the world. I'd taken to stalking the borders of the Lagoon as if it were my job, hoping that someday I would find someone close enough to the border that I could force them into the Lagoon with me and keep them out of Nahawi's sight.

I hadn't yet me the boss, but rumors said that when he was elected last year, he'd immediately let all of the prisoners go, and that it was because of him that the Lagoon stank of nothing but testosterone, mud, and rot. I was inclined to believe my brothers, if only because their teachings hadn't done me wrong yet. They'd shown me where to find fresh water, where to shelter, and where the best grasses were. And they were still teaching me things - like where to claim mares and how to raid from other places. I hadn't yet left on my own to do one, but the desire to do so burned white hot in my mind. Someday I would be as well-known as Cullen and Tyr, I had already decided. Someday people would talk about me and be a little afraid, even when I was old and frail.

Today though, was unfortunately, not that day.

Today, I slogged my way through the muck and mud in search of someone to harass. Whether it was to provoke another practice fight or conversation or argument remained to be seen, but I wanted to find someone who would say something other than buzzz like the insects droning around my head. Lifting my head, I called out for one of my brothers and then settled in the muggy shade of a moss-laden tree with one hoof cocked.

I couldn't be the only one bored today.
