Re(1): Dania Court vs. Magic City Court Jai Alai

I think both courts have their charms.

On the longer court picadas, as well as scoring off the back wall, seem more effective. The higher ceiling allows for steeper angles. Scoring off the front wall with dejadas, 2-walls, inside and outside placements, etc. is easier because there is more court for the defender to cover.

So the way I look at it, on the longer court it is harder to defend but easier to score and on the shorter court it is easier to defend but harder to score.

I can see how that could make the shorter court more fun to watch singles on because the defender has more of a chance. And then the longer court speeds up doubles because scoring is easier.

For me, on either court, I prefer the quicker, expeditious, attacking offense of singles, to the more methodical, patient defense of doubles. For a bad analogy, it is like a sword fight vs tug of war.
