Endangered Birds On Carden Posted on April 11, 2007 at 12:59:26 PM by Bob Bowles
A pair of the endangered Eastern Loggerhead Shrikes was reported on April 10th on Carden Alvar near a nesting location that these have used for a number of years. This species has greatly decreased in number in Ontario and now Carden Alvar is one of their few remaining nesting locations in the province. Our next birding milestone will come about April 29th when birders will report hearing Yellow Rails calling near the bridge on Wiley Road at Sedge Wren Marsh. Replies: There have been no replies.
