TO ALL RETIREES,
The pension board meeting IS Thursday, December 13th, at 1:30 pm.. The date was moved up because of Christmas. Every month, we have 10-12 members of RF&PA attend each meeting. We like to keep informed about what is going on. Anyone can attend the meetings as they are open to the public. After the meeting, the Trustees will go into Executive Session to discuss legal strategy for various issues. Then the regular meeting is reconvened and any motions that need to be passed are made and voted on as per the Sunshine Laws of Florida. This month, the Trustees will be considering the offer the RF&PA made to settle the Motion For Costs. I am very hopeful that the Trustees will consider our offer and make a motion to accept. That would be a big step in resolving this dispute that has been running since 2003. The other issue is ths 13th. Check suit brought by John Parker. The Trustees are still working on that one in an attempt to resolve the issue. More info will be available after Thursdays meeting.
