Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

She camoflauged nicely with her snow-coated surroundings.

Juno was simply a lump against the cold grey of the stone behind her, and extra drift of snow that was powerdered over the ground and the stone's rough surface. She delivered a blank gaze to her paws and the cliff before her, peering down with limited interest at the heights that followed. The arctic fox was not afraid of heights, or anything for that matter. Well, one thing... her aging. It was beginning to aggravate her that she was growing old, and as the fox tried to ignore it, her past haunted her and she wondered if she could have done more with her life. She flicked her tongue over her lips, standing and walking to the edge of a cliff. Sitting down, peering over it.

"I'm starting to doubt the purpose of living this life," she murmured to herself, her voice cracking lightly even as she spoke. The fox was not in bad health, but her long silence was creeping up on her. Her golden eyes squinted as the sun alit the long drop, a bit of moistness rising in them, maybe sorrow as the black pupils began to glitter like dark spheres of oil. Her bushy tail curled itself tightly over her paws, covering the deep red of her left forepaw. The coming her of her depression was... it was a result of the loss of all she had known. Well, of those who were familiar. Being indifferent to her surroundings had been easy for all these years; now they had come back to haunt her.

"But I know this isn't the right way...." She continued the conversation with herself, scratching her dark claws on the ice-coated ground. "Oh, what am I doing?" Juno stood, shaking her coat, padding back towards the stone she had been perched beneath. "Being silly, that's what I'm doing. I swear I'm going crazy."

The white fox sat down again, stretching herself out in the cold, suddenly feeling sick to her stomache. "I'm losing it, I'm losing it, I'm losing it!" She shut her eyes, then covered them with her paws. Silence took over, and Juno wanted nothing more than to shred it.
