It is with deep regret that I must tell all of you of my Dad's passing. I have and will call some of the individuals that I can find phone numbers for. I went through his address book on his email. Please pass the word along as I don't know how current these addresses are.

Wallace Scott Butler Sr.
Wallace Scott Butler Sr., 81, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born July 17, 1926, in Jacksonville, Fla., and was the son of the late Jessie Butler and Bonnie Scott Butler. Mr. Butler was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired Lt. with the Tampa Police Dept., was a charter member of FOP Lodge #27 of Tampa, Fla. He was also a 32nd degree Mason Fellowship Lodge #265 and a member of the Tampa Scottish Rite. In addition to his parents, Mr. Butler was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Knowles and Christine Hempstead. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Joyce Weaver Butler; a daughter, Karen B. Brown and husband, Attley K. Brown; a son, Wallace Scott Butler Jr.; six sisters, Juanita Reeves, Merle Fine, Mildred Metzger, Jean Bryan, Betty Walker and Bonnie Caruso; two brothers, Carlton and Bobby; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Ed Yarbrough officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2031, American Legion Posts No. 217, No. 65 and No. 113, DAV Chapter No. 68 and Marine Corps League Detachment No. 1097. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Wallace Butler.
