Carden Alvar Nature Board by Bob BowlesSwallows, Evening Grosbeaks, trillium


The trillium is blooming on Wylie Road at the top of the hill north of Sedge Wren marsh -- a nice big patch.
At least a hundred swallows were darting around just over the water at Mitchell Lake, seen today from the causeway (Harley Road). A tern sailed by, presumably a Caspian.
The first Evening Grosbeaks we've seen all year came to the feeders in Victoria Road this morning -- quite a sight feeding with male cardinals and purple finches
