*Name: Akiha
*Gender: Female
*Appearance (include eye/skin/hair colour): Japanese. 2’9, brown-black hair, hazel eyes, moon-shaped face. Faintly pointed ears, naturally pink lips, a button nose. Her large, mournful eyes are her defining facial feature.
*Defects (only required if the character has any): Mild vitiligo, very shy.
Age: 15
Personality: Akiha is shy and demure – she has a very sharp intelligence that she hides with her large eyes, gender and youth. While being so young, she is not naïve; she is vaguely bitter, sarcastic when she’s comfortable around someone, and cynical. Akiha, or Aki, is also unfailingly sweet and compassionate.
History: Her mother died in childbirth, and she was raised by her distant, very intelligent father. At age 14, she ran away, and has been wandering for a year.
Sample post: He wanders, oriental eyed and different, curious about the snow and the sun in the same breath, shedding skins and pretend identities with ease, adapting to the cold with a dance, with a leaping bound that made him seem antelope like, and maybe he had spent too much time with his goat friends. They bounded nimbly from rock to rock, and that skill was usual when you lived in the mountains, at Dazzling Waterfall. But now he was in the meadow, and he was following the birdsong that was causing his fellow colt such acute displeasure. A pause, and Darer halted behind a rather large boulder, peeking out from behind it to observe the very angry paint colt.

The other colt was threatening to tear the bird’s wings off. Darer flattened his ears and glared at the figure of the other colt, not really understanding (or caring) why the colt was so angry. He wouldn’t tolerate anyone being mean to his friends. But the bird flew off at that moment, and the other colt turned his attention to being morose. Darer watched, fascinated, as the colt slide into the silliest position and then held it – totally vulnerable to predators and other dangers. Darer’s mother had always warned him against being vulnerable, cueing the deeply ingrained instincts that had kept him from running off a cliff or lying down in the middle of a plain. Common sense, it was called – and this colt didn’t have any.

No, he certainly did not, for he began to sing, just attracting more attention to himself. But his voice was lovely enough for Darer to creep out from behind his rock, gangly and lanky, the color of a striped, blushing sunrise with a dark mane and tail and darker eyes. He snorted quietly, listening to the ballad of Lady Greensleeves without having any idea who or what Lady Greensleeves was, seeing the colt’s frustration at the cold meld itself into a song, and listening to the plea for the mistlethrush; and then he spoke, head cocked and eyes warm.

“It will be springtime soon. You can find Lady Greensleeves then.” A smile, delicate and precious, and Darer waited in the snow for an answer.

wandering faerie
When you long with all your heart for someone to love you, a madness grows there that shakes all sense from the trees and the water and the earth. And nothing lives for you, except the long deep bitter want. And this is what everyone feels from birth to death.
