GRANT Hart/The Best BT songs
IP: 173.14.172.169

Thanks mom, FINALLY - someone acknowledges my genius.
Seriously - of course, there is no one real 'truth' in picking singles or any of this past bt history. I'm always SO sure we were choosing the right single for each album. Yet we overlooked Taillights Fade as a single back in 1947. It just didn't seem like a vital track at the time. So what do we or anyone else know in retrospect.

Lyrics are not so straight forward. So many of our favorite writers -create from other perspectives, points of view/ contrasting different story lines and narrators within one song - so its best to trust the Singer not the Song on the lyric front.

When I look back, I think we were lucky to be able to develop our music/lyrics slowly over the years via independent labels with little or no pressure. I think we all arrived at the right place in the end.

Which reminds me that Grant Hart has a new album out - his myspace has a new single streaming. He's one of my all-time favorites, still knocking out great songs. Keeps me keeping on.
