most mozilla firefox users are aware of ad blocker for firefox. if you're not, you can download it here:

this ad blocker not only blocks pop-ups, but on-site advertisements like the ones found on our boards.
if you use internet explorer, you can download a similar add-on here:
http://www.quero.at/
if you're not already using quero, i completely recommend it. it's free and really easy to use; all you do is press the quero button on your toolbar and check or uncheck 'block ads' and 'block pop ups.' if you're like me and get irritated by the flashy ads on the boards, this is the toolbar to get.
if you do download it, however, please note the following:
- quero ad-blocker does block the chatango box, so you'll need to switch it off when you go onto the chat board.
- it also blocks neoaid search results if you use www.neoaid.com as your default search engine. however, this is easy to remedy: simply click the quero button on your toolbar and go to options. then click adblocker and uncheck 'block iframe ads', and neoaid will work again ;)
- you may have to turn ad blocker off when playing facebook games. it also doesn't work on facebook ads.
if you use google chrome, getting an ad blocker is slightly more difficult because google relies on advertising as a source of income. however, you can try the following link:

i have personally tested the ad blockers for firefox and internet explorer, but not google chrome, so i can't verify it works.
