Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

The raven continued to hop alongside or nearby the wolf pup, half flying to a rock or two dramatically as he waited for the pup to climb.

Fairbanks was more of a here and now creature. Intelligent but he masked it well, unintentionally of course. His past was a muddied one and he never really dwelled on it too much. Not for the fear or sadness of it as it was neither sad nor frightenings, but more for the simple fact that it was the past and he felt little care for it.

He quietly stopped to watch the pup every now and then, analyzing the route the young wolf took and wondering about his reasons.

His beady eyes and almost mechanical head movements kept the wolf in his sight most of the time and he seemed to prefer it that way--for whatever reasons birds have for watching.

At the question the raven rousted on a nearby rock pondering his response. "Wake me up where truffles are lost and ice is king." He rambled a couple more sentences before a real answer made a connection between the bird's brain and beak. "An icy land of which I know not a name. But what is a name anyway?" He almost seemed to hum for a moment before continuing. "Not around here. Somewhere else. Far away. Just looking for a place to stay a while." Fairbanks gently picked at a rock with his beak, somehow dislodging a very tiny pebble from the cold rocks and tossed it down the mountain. Just for the fun of it.

"Mountain climbing?" The raven wondered why this pup would ever want to risk his life in such a cold and ruthless terrain. "Prove to you?"

Fairbanks continued to follow the little pup, not really worried about anything but the slight bite of the wind. He was amused, curious, and almost protective of this little wolf. Instincts perhaps. An ancient bond between the wolf and the black diamond tailed flyers.
