There is no explanation as to how the world of Ausus was created, no textbook enlightenment or primitive scribbles. We have been here before time existed, when there was nothing but void and darkness, and every foundation had yet to be built. We are an ever thriving and working planet, striving to perfect and falling into despair.

We have no god, therefore we are chaos.

We are without blame or fault, we have no deity to answer to. There is no committed sin or good deed, it all meshes together in a gray blur. We have no force looking from above or below for our sake, no temptations or guidance.

We know there is a space, an empty hole within ourselves. We crave to know that someone has made us, that we are not just listless nothing. Some of our own try to become gods, molding the crowds with hope and destruction. They build their kingdoms upon sand and watch as the rolling tide begins to wash them away, crumbling them into nothing. Yet they vainly persist onward because they feel the same emptiness, the same pain.

But truly, we are alone.
We have no one watching over us.
