I don't know how those creatures followed us. We thought our plan had been fool-proof. This is the reason for this letter - it's my story, all on paper. I am not long for this world, having suffered grievous injuries from an ambush. This is not my last will and testament, this is not a note to induce your pity. This is a warning, for whoever finds it, whoever becomes the next leaders of this doomed place. It is with my greatest condolences that you must face this fate that we have created ourselves.

This is an apology for the lives that will be lost in the future because of our mistake, though I know that my words cannot fix the condemnation of my actions. Know that with a heavy heart and much inconsolable grief do I leave this life. It was our misdeeds, our wayward decisions that have cursed you now. And onto you, we have brought your demise.
