Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

The grey tigress grinned as she landed lightly on the mountaintop and folded her wings. Flying. There was nothing like i, in this world or any other. She looked around, her dark red eyes bright with curiosity, and padded over to the edge of a slippery ravine, stretching her aching wings with a wince. Yep, flying, absolutel wonderful- but sore when you came down. At least for her, but then she was only a beginner- she had been practising with her new wings for just a day or so, and she was still getting used to them. The way up to Ice Mountian was the longest flight she had attempted so far.

She turned round to study her wings- they still seemed new, not quite a part of her, but she imagined you got used to it. She knew some creatures got rid of her wings when they weren't acually flying, but she was proud of hers, and she liked their light weight on her back.

They were deep black, and glossy as the wings of a raven, patterned through with swirls of purple and the same scarlet as her eyes. Looking out over the lands stretched beneath her, sshe raised one paw as if to touch the faraway ground. She was half tempted to take flight again and attempt a spiral downwards, but she knew she was tired. She would stay here for a while, ar least.
