Some Angels are just destined to fall!

Some Angels are just destined to fall!

Centuries ago the very first angel set foot upon Excelencia, Noah brushed the softness of his hands against the rough surface of the ground, raising until he stood tall in th e pasture of Gemira. The Archangels first job was to hide his wings, his second job was to locate Bronwen. She had been chosen to bare the child of an Angel and now her and the child's life was in danger and it was Noah's job to protect her because the guardians couldn't.

Rain had been cast from the heavens upon him when his eyes set upon the girl for the very first time, oddly she paused and starred back at him, a single drop of cold water cascading from her cheek, she smiled a gentle smile and he had the most unusual feeling well inside his chest, a burning sensation and the air caught in his lungs as he fought to ignore it and usher her inside of the building out of the rain and the cold.

She looked up at him as he tried to shield her from as much of the rain as possible, removing the hood from his head as he closed the door to the bar behind him, "Thank you!" she said with that very same smile as she starred into the baby blue of his eyes. "Your wel-" he muttered in hushed husky tones before someone in the distance interrupted "BRONWEN" He yelled, and Noah watched as her face sunk in reluctance that smile turning half feeble as she rubbed her right hand against her baby bump. "Sorry" she sighed, walking away from him before he was able to respond.

He took this as his cue to sit down, to remove the coat from his shoulders while prying eyes of locals watching his every move. Noah wasn't the type to ingore ignorance, and so he looked back at them calmly until they shy'd away in discomfort realizing their ignorance. "Can i get you something?" The girl had startled him and he looked up at her from where he sat, scanning his eyes over the long red curls that hugged her shoulders, "I don't mean to be rude" he started, lifting the menu from the table "But, is there any chance i can get that young lady to serve me?" he dipped his head within Bronwens direction, and the girl grinned at him placing pen and pad back into the front pocket of her apron and walked away.

I don't know whether it's a blessing or a curse, but angels are usually blessed with incredible hearing and senses, and right now Noah wished he didn't have that ability, "The guy in the back wants you to serve him" she said to bronwen and he could feel her eyes upon him as he stared down at the menu, "That one?" she said as she pointed to him, a hint of a flutter in her voice. "Yes, that one, i think he likes you." Noah shifted uncomfortably in his seat, instinctively looking up at her for a split second but looking away as she did.

Problem is Noah was more than aware that he could not have feelings for this girl, it was forbidden and would go against everything he stood for, and had learned over the years. He had protected thousands of people in his years of being and Angel, and already he was reminding himself that he wasn't allowed to be attracted to her, which brought him incredible diss-comfort. He had never found himself second thinking his judgements before in the past, but he simply couldn't ignore the feeling of light headedness he had just got in her presence.

She had wandered over to him while he had been in through and when he looked up from his menu she was stood there eyes fixed upon the pad as her body stiffened through nerves. This definitely made him uncomfortable, her emotions were all over the place except he had this horrible gut feeling that she was actually attracted to him. "Uh, i think i will just have a coffee." her eyes met his as he finished that sentence, "No alcohol then" she smiled and he laughed, "It doesn't do anything for me unfortunately". She wrote down his order, her grin growing with his response. The funny thing was she didn't understand just how true that was, angels were not blessed with the ability to taste and alcohol really did have no effect on them, even if they did drink and eat on occasion to pacify their company.

"Would you like something to eat?" she asked looking at him as though he looked half starved and therefor should eat "Uh" he bit down upon his lower lip "N-" she cut him off mid sentence "Pancakes it is then." she smiled as his jaw dropped and he stuttered slightly, she brought her pen over to where his finger laid on the menu and in big bold writing was pancakes and toffee sauce. He grinned, reluctant to argue, he could feel his cheeks warming to a crimson glow, almost a match for his red shirt.

She returned to the kitchen and he played with his hands in his lap in boredom, trying to place himself or at-least look like he blended in with his surroundings. It wasn't long before she returned with the order and placed it down in-front of him "Can i see you again?" he blurted, blinking in surprise he hadn't expected that to slip frim his lips as quickly or as easily as it had. "Sorry" he laughed nervously. And his body stiffened as she leaned in to him, her lips hovering but a center-meter from his ear, her warm breath tickling at the surface and sending rolls of shivers up his spine "Yes", his heart literally missed a beat and he struggled to control himself.

He ate the pancakes she had brought him simply to be polite, but he wished more than anything he could of tasted them. He drank the coffee and left the usual bit at the bottom, before he took his wallet out of his pocket and placed his money on the receipt tray. Writing his name and number atop of the receipt, before pulling his coat over his shoulders and leaving while she was distracted and busy, but he didn't just leave, he stood across the road in the shadows out of the way of the street lights and watched and waited for her to notice him gone and collected his number and money for his order, and when she had he swore that she looked directly at him through the window and smiled before walking away.

Later that evening he sat within the tree outside her bedroom window, she lived with her parents probably to keep the costs down and for added support with the new arrival on it's way. She worked for more hours than any pregnant woman should simply to provide for this child, in an uncomfortable environment where she clearly was no happy and certainly not safe. But now as he watched her from the trees height within her own domain. He realized how comfortable and happy she was, even stupidly sentimental as she held a small baby vest out in front of her with a grin.

He never really cared much for moments like this, he had no children of his own so he didn't know the experience or the emotions all that well. He had passed at a young age within a car accident, it almost felt as though it had been planned and he had been murdered, and it made him wonder really as he tried to piece together what memories he could from his mortal lifetime, where was his Guardian Angel? why was that his time?, at just twenty three years old.

What Noah didn't realize is that this very moment that he sat in the tree and watched Bronwen his life or what he classed as normality would change forever. He nor she would ever be the same again, they would fall in love even though his struggles to fight himself, his lust for her would become to great. And he would fall from the heavens. His wings torn from his body mid descent by the Archangels. He would be doomed to suffer an eternity without her and the child, deprived of all feeling, and worst of all he would not be able to see her or her him ever again.

His struggle to protect her would be all for nothing, his love her her would tear him apart as he was doomed to never see that smile again. Unless the book of Elixir was right, and he could somehow become human, and see her once more, to live and breath beside her with the risk of sacrificing one human life form, was it worth it? do you think?
