Where are we supposed to go?
I want you to remember this.
Just because I understand,
doesn't mean I really care.

Grayson was an odd child, not by the means that he was not ‘all there’ but by the fact that the boy had looked up to someone to a rather extreme. See, Grayson had no father figure, nor had he really cared about his father. Being with such innocence he really only saw his mother and his sister as true family. But it hadn’t passed his eye that most children had two parents, a mother and a father. It’s not like his biological father cared about him either, no, Declan had his own problems and his scattered children were not apart of that equation. Being that, he had looked up to Arthur, the kind of the island and the core. It wasn’t a mystery why he had drawn such an attachment to him. After all he was a warrior and all. In his mind he was more like a god, he was his childhood hero. If he was like modern children on earth he would of draped his room in Arthurian stuff. Unfortunately he wasn’t one of those children so he settled for something else.

His wooden sword and his imagination.

Often times he would find himself alone, being a usual boy 9 out of 10 times it was normally outside. If he wasn’t he would pretend the house was his castle, or a dangerous cave of sorts. But today had been a special day. His mother Serafina had finally decided he was grown up enough to go to the castle by himself, a place he had always dreamed of visiting. Being home with Saffron his little sister she couldn’t join her son to see his dream become a reality. Wooden sword in tow he slashed out at the bushes and shrubs as he walked past them, pretending that they were dangerous enemies like the nazeer, the rock dragon, or other creatures. The boy dressed in a dark grey shirt and blue jeans. A rather thick red cotton jacket hugged him for warmth against the cold. As active as he was he didn’t need much else to protect him.

For Grayson, the walked felt like forever. Era, his Australian cattle dog familiar tagged along helplessly. Grayson would often turn around to her and made her play an enemy and they would ‘fight to the death’ more times then either of the could of counted. The pup, whom loved her fairy couldn’t find herself saying no to him. If she had been anything other then a dog things might have been different, but her undying loyalty to him ran deeper than the marrow in the bones. At one pain the had turned to her and they played their little part before he turned back. When he did he felt almost lost, at some point they had strayed from the path and he hadn’t notice. Growing worried he started the jog through the wooded area, clearing the brush with his sword.

It was then he came to a clearing and the castle stood just east of him, gazing in awe he could barley find the strength to move. A large grin appeared upon his lips as he looked down to Era and could help but give her one of his excited looks.

For every boy there is a dream.

And this boys dream just became a reality.

There was only one thing after this to do, something for him to look forward too, and that was meet Arthur. But he knew things came slowly and usually one at a time and very far apart. So for now, this was perhaps the happiest moment of the boys life.
